We love this place. We used to come here about once a week when we lived here. Now we eat here every time we are in San Diego... We always order extra so we can have leftovers. :) The jerked chicken and BBQ chicken are soooo tasty!

I hope you like rice and beans! Half of my take-out box was filled with it ... luckily I love it but it almost seemed excessive. Overall food was good but not great, chicken was a bit dry but the atmosphere is good and the owner is awesome so it is a welcome addition to the San Diego food scene!
This place is the place to go if you are craving Jamaican cuisine, love it. Portions are great, food is great. People are great. Greatness. Yum yum yum:)
This the "real deal". Real Jamaican food. Very very good!
Great flavor, welcoming atmosphere and big servings!!
Ive been to jamacia many times this place really embodies jamacian culture. From food, to the decor, down to the menus. They also have voco bread which is my favorite made fresh
Jerk Chicken,.....the best. Brown stew checken,......the flippin greatest. Oxtail,.....mooo i dont feel sorry for that ox because it taste too damn good. The portions are huge and you will be satisfied with the taste for sure. My friend took me to this reataurant in 2009 and it literally changed my life. Ask me how and why when you
My husband has lived in San Diego his entire life, and this is the Jamaican restaurant he took me to when I first moved there. Island Spice is by far one of the best Jamaican restaurants I have been to in So. Cal PERIOD. The food is DELICIOUS, authentic, and they serve large portions that I had a hard time finishing in one sitting.
The only complaint that I've ever been able to have about Island Spice is that the parking is horrible. If you go, please, do not pull into their lot, drive down the street about 50 feet and just park on Market St. As for the food, the food is excellent. Oxtails, curry goat, callaloo, wonderful patties. I've never had anything th
First time here. Food was very FLAVORFUL. Incredible taste!!! Portions were huge and the service was amazing. I highly recommend it and I'm definitely coming back here again.
I've loved this place since my first visit seven years ago. Trinis and Jamaicans brought me here--'nuff said.
Service wasn't that great... They never have chicken pattys they should just take it off the menu. Foods great.
I am Trinidadian native who loooves Jamaican curry goat and since recently moving to San Diego, I have looked all over for a good Caribbean restaurant. Island Spice by far is the best i've had, even from my last residence of Philadelphia. The staff are very pleasant and conveniently located...I will be a regular!
I am Jamaican and since moving to California in 2007 from Florida, have looked tirelessly for an authentic Jamaican restaurant throughout Los Angeles where I live. Needless to say I found a few here and there but they were really watered down. Then someone told me about Island Spice and how it just can't get any better than the foo
But the parking leaves something to be desired. Honestly, if they would consider moving into a larger space with parking, I think they would be a hit. The ladies that run the kitchen are the real thing: really sweet. The food, well, you can't have too much of a good thing. Except here. They give you too much and it still isn't enough
their curry goat and oxtails are so good i haven't had a chance to try anything else on the menu and I'm a regular there!!!!
