Do not live here
Renew Mt. Vernon is by far one of the worst places I have ever lived. Management does not listen to residents’ concerns and instead gaslights you when issues are brought up. The rent is extremely overpriced, especially considering all the hidden fees added on top of it.
Since moving into my apartment, the shower has never properly balanced the water temperature. I submitted multiple maintenance tickets only to be told that “it’s been like that in this unit,” which basically meant I was expected... to just deal with it.
What really pushed me over the edge was the rodent infestation in the building. No one should be paying luxury apartment prices while dealing with rodents in their home.
On top of that, if you pay monthly for a reserved parking space, be prepared for other people to park in it anyway. Then, instead of resolving the issue, management sends harassing emails threatening to tow your vehicle even though the parking situation is not your fault.
Package handling is another nightmare. Packages constantly get stolen or are placed into parcel lockers that residents cannot even access, and management does absolutely nothing to resolve the issue or help tenants recover their deliveries.
Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere. There are plenty of other apartments nearby that actually care about their residents.

This is genuinely a great residential area, especially for anyone affiliated with Johns Hopkins University. The neighborhood is safe, calm, and well-maintained, making it comfortable to live in long term. One of the biggest advantages is how well-connected it is—this location falls under all major JHU shuttle routes, including late-night rides, which is a huge plus for students and employees who work late or prefer not to drive.
Commuting to JHU and nearby areas is extremely convenient, whether... you’re using the shuttle, public transport, or walking. Mount Vernon itself is a lively and charming area with easy access to grocery stores, cafés, restaurants, and cultural spots, so daily errands and social life are effortless.
Overall, this apartment offers an excellent balance of location, safety, and accessibility, and it’s especially ideal for JHU students or professionals looking for a reliable, stress-free commute and a pleasant neighborhood to live in.
