So I’ve lived here about a week now and so far I really love the neighborhood. I was a little nervous after reading some of the Google reviews, but after actually staying here, I’ve been pretty satisfied overall. I have a 1-bedroom with an amazing view at a price I can definitely appreciate.

A few things could be improved though. The hallways have definitely seen better days. Personally, I think management should tear up the carpet and just leave the concrete underneath because it would... honestly look cleaner and be easier to maintain.

I can only speak for my own unit, but mine is relatively updated and I plan to continue making it feel even more like home. I did ask the leasing office about residents’ concerns regarding cockroaches and mice. They insisted most issues were caused by dirty tenants, which may be true in some cases. However, leaking pipes on B1 — and likely in other areas as well — are causing drips and possible mold concerns that clearly need more attention.

Another issue is the underground parking garage. Residents pay extra for it, but some people treat it like a common area and leave trash around. That should definitely be addressed and enforced better.

Management did mention they recently started weekly pest-control sprays for cockroaches every Wednesday. I personally haven’t seen any pests yet, but I figured it was worth mentioning.

There is also nighttime security that patrols the building. Honestly, it startled me the first time I came home late from the bar, but I do appreciate the added security presence because it helps keep the building quiet and feels safer overall.

Lastly, please fix the fire panel/box downstairs near the vending machines. It’s showing a “low battery” warning, which means the backup battery is either low or dead. If the power were to go out and the system failed, residents may not receive proper fire alerts. That’s a serious safety concern and should be addressed immediately.

Overall, if you’re okay with living in an older building, it’s not a bad place at all. Most of the tenants I’ve encountered have been friendly, and despite a few maintenance concerns, my experience so far has been positive. Read More

This apartment isn’t the best, it was my first apartment since moving on my own so I wasn’t expecting much. The maintenance overall is kind of shabby, my bathroom has mold, the wall is falling apart because it’s painted water damage. Sometimes the heater works, but only on a certain setting. Even then you only get the option to turn it on or off.

There are cockroaches that come from somewhere on the kitchen walls from another apartment when it’s dark or cold out. I often come into the kitchen... for a drink or snack in the night and see them scurry across the counter and underneath its edge. Though I put traps around and it’s always clean they still like to wander to the farther corners of my apartment, just to die.

The neighborhood is not bad, but it has gotten a little more active than it was when I moved in. There are two new shot spotters within a few blocks. The fire alarm and police sirens are always coming to visit at random times throughout the days as well. My floor is a main contributor to this and it tends to get very loud on holidays or weekends.

There has been new property management since I started my lease and there has been some improvements such as the elevators and stairs being so dirty. The elevators on the south side of the building are usually operable, if not there is another on the north side and there are a few staircases. There are no entryway cameras as people have destroyed or stolen them, packages constantly go missing and get stolen. So I would not recommend sending your packages to this address, unless you will be there when it arrives. The maintenance man is very attentive, but I believe that there is a maintenance fee each time you put in a work order now.

Aside from all that’s listed above as long as you keep your space clean, set out some traps and maybe cover wall openings you should be fine. I would not live here if you would like a peaceful, cleanly, and quiet building however.

But there are several security issues.

Overall still satisfied with building, location, amenities etc. My first maintenance request (kitchen sink) was completed quickly and efficiently! However, recently making requests take a ridiculous amount of time to be completed (mail key, bathroom ceiling, etc.) No reciprocated communication with staff ever. Anytime I wish to speak to someone I'm forced to show up at the leasing office unannounced.

You can never get a hold of property management in person, on the phone, or email. Management has made it clear that they do not care about the quality of your living space. They just want your money.

If you move in with a promotion, watch closely that it is accurately applied. The correct amount owed is rarely posted on your account. Management takes months to address that, so be sure you budget for more than what you're quoted.

The elevators are always broken. If they are working, you... gamble getting stuck in it. If you do get stuck in it, the emergency service simply puts in a ticket and can't tell you when to expect to get out. Make sure you have your phone with you, as you'll need to call 911.

People urinate and deficate in the stairwells. When you have to take the stairs because the elevators are broken, you have to breathe unhealthy air and walk thru urine coated stairs.

The parking garage easily floods after minimal rain, causing you to wade through unsanitary water to get to/from your vehicle. Read More
