Since everyone has a different budget and reason for moving to the area, what seems affordable for one person may be expensive for another. Rent in California is a bit more pricey than in other areas of the country as it is such a desirable place to live. People enjoy the nice weather, amenities and fabulous scenery. Here are some numbers to help you get a feel for what the average rental costs are in the area:

  • Average low: $1079
  • Average high: $1568
  • Studios: $906
  • 1 Bedroom: $1,106
  • 2 Bedrooms: $1,364
  • 3 Bedrooms: $1,797

Keep in mind that these are average costs and there are a wide range of prices in the area. Luxury apartments or furnished apartments may cost you far more than the average, and living right on the water tends to be much more costly than getting a place inland. There are also places to be had for less money if you are willing to spend the necessary time investigating.
