Where can I find a pet-friendly apartment near Cincinnati that allows Pit Bulls?

Dog owners in Ohio—Pit Bull owners, to be precise—are finding themselves in a quandary when it comes to finding apartments in Cincinnati that are pet friendly, but don’t allow Pit Bulls. If you encounter this problem, hold your fire. It’s nothing personal. Not against you, anyway. And it isn’t up to the apartment owners, either. Cincinnati is just one of three American cities (along with Denver and Miami) that have banned Pit Bulls altogether. That’s right, they’re not even allowed within city limits. So what’s a Pit Bull owner who’s taking up residence in the Cincinnati metro area to do?

Well, there’s the obvious solution: just don’t live within Cincinnati city limits. There’s nothing to say you can’t find apartments in northern Kentucky within a stone’s throw of the city that will allow you and your pet to take up happy residence. Search for vacancies in cities like Cold Spring, Hebron, Taylor Mill, and Edgewood.

But before you go lugging little Petey along with you on your apartment hunt, it pays to do a bit of additional research. Many pet friendly apartment complexes have breed restrictions that prohibit residents from owning certain types of animals that can include Dobermans, Rottweilers, Dalmatians and German Shepherds. Try to read up on apartment pet policies beforehand.
