Apartment Living BlogApartment Living › Fees for Moving Out

The contract for my apartment is for 1 year. What if I want to move out of the apartment? What fees or other things would I have to do to stop paying rent?

If you signed a one-year lease, then you are legally bound to the apartment for one year. This means that you’ll need to take a close look at your contract and see what fees the rental charges for breaking a lease early. Typically, you will not receive your security deposit back if you break your lease, but you also might be liable for paying rent until the property manager is able to rent it out to someone else within that year period of your lease.
