New Management Ruined it
Lived here for a year. New management took over the month we signed our lease and it went downhill from there. Always a mess, made a ton of poor aesthetic changes, “renovated” the inside of the apartments (I.e. took away our cabinets). Not to mention we moved out and they made up a bunch of random charges to keep our deposit. (E.g. “floor was not clean” even though they’re ripping up the carpet?). That’s just our experience, but we would never live here again.

DO NOT MOVE HERE
Do NOT live at The Fitzgerald. This place has gone completely downhill.
I moved in right before the new property management company took over, and at first, it was a decent place to live. The second the new company stepped in, everything went to hell.
They cut down all the beautiful old growth trees and made the already limited parking situation worse by dropping multiple cargo containers in the lot for eight months. Residents had nowhere to park — and they did nothing about it.
Their... so-called “renovations” were a joke. They ripped out our functional cabinets and replaced them with cheap white ones that cut our kitchen storage in HALF. They added a washer/dryer combo that does not dry anything. Oh, and during this renovation I didn’t ask for, they took my working oven and replaced it with one that didn’t even work — and then left me without a functioning oven for over two weeks. I had to constantly follow up just to get a basic appliance fixed, which is literally against renters' rights.
The complex is no longer safe. There have been multiple incidents requiring police presence, including a shooting. I was personally attacked by a drunk neighbor — and none of this was ever acknowledged or addressed by management. I even found live bullets on the ground. I picked them up myself and handed them to the leasing office because there are children who live here.
The property is trashed. Constant broken glass, garbage everywhere, and zero upkeep. They told everyone the pool would open early this year. Guess what? It never opened. Probably because they left water in it all winter and damaged the plumbing.
The only saving grace is the leasing office staff — the girls working there are kind and clearly doing their best, but their hands are tied by a management company that clearly doesn’t care about the property or its residents. Maintenance requests go ignored, rent is increasing, and quality of living is rapidly decreasing.
Bottom line: This place is unsafe, unkept, and not worth your money. Stay far away from The Fitzgerald.

Awful
I've lived in this complex since 2021, and I used to love it. In the summer of 2024, however, a different management company took over and ruined everything. They cut down all the trees around the property for no reason at all. There was a free book exchange shelf in the laundry room that they removed, again for no reason. There used to be a clubhouse with a pool table that was removed as well. Then they started with the "renovations". These renovations have been going on for months, and are... truly awful. Shipping containers and materials such as pallets of tiles and old appliances that were taken out of the renovated apartments have been left sitting in the parking lot taking up parking spaces. There is nowhere to park anymore. Old stoves and refrigerators are left lying around the complex. My apartment was renovated yesterday, and almost all of the cabinet space was removed. There used to be cabinets above the stove, but now there's just a big empty space. They didn't even replace the cabinets with anything, and now there's nowhere to put my dishes. Not only that, but one of the drawers they put in was not screwed together and fell apart as soon as we opened it. My bathroom cabinet is falling apart as well. The new light fixtures are just unpleasant. The dishwasher is tiny. They're doing these low quality renovations so they can hike up the rent, but honestly the apartment was a lot better before they renovated it. I don't know who would pay the amount that they're asking for these apartments that are now completely falling apart. I would ask if maintenance could come and fix some of these issues, but last time I put in a maintenance request, they used my good fabric scissors to unclog my shower drain as if that were an acceptable and professional way to do things.

Property Manager at The Fitzgerald responded to this review
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We genuinely appreciate your long-term residency with us and are truly sorry to hear how your experience has changed since the transition in management. We understand your concerns regarding the... removal of community features like the trees, book exchange, and clubhouse. While these decisions were part of a broader effort to update and improve the property, we acknowledge that the changes may not reflect what made this community feel like home to you—and for that, we sincerely apologize. Regarding the renovations, we are actively working to improve the process and minimize the disruption they’ve caused. We understand that the storage issues, discarded materials, and parking challenges are frustrating, and we’re sorry for the inconvenience. Your feedback about the quality of workmanship is especially important, and we will be looking into the issues you described with your cabinets, fixtures, and maintenance experience. The situation with your personal scissors being used in a service visit is completely unacceptable, and we will address this with our team immediately. The renovations team is aware of the needed repairs within your home and your apartment will be walked for inspection soon. We thank you for your patience during this time and are grateful to have you as part of our community.

New Management: Evil
This property used to be beautiful. And affordable!
But new management has taken over and cut down all the trees! And they raised rent $150 per month! Per month!!!
The trees where old and provided shade (thus energy savings!) and privacy.
Now for an extra $150 per month, I have a higher energy bill and no privacy.
They even demolished an old flowering tree that was no where near the buildings. Why???
No reasons were given as to why this was happening. So I guess I'll chalk it up to "evil... landlord reasons".
It is so much hotter in my apartment now. There is no shade to park in. You don't realize how important the trees are until they are gone.
Not that the landlord cares.

Very Homey
I've lived here for 3 months and so far, my experience has been great. My neighbors are quiet, and most everyone respects quiet hours. There is some road noise, but I am in a unit along the road so that is to be expected. I haven't had any maintenance issues in my unit, and when I did have a problem, the property manager himself came up to take a look for me. The community here is very sweet; they give out monthly newspapers to let you know what will be going on in the community if you wish to... be a part of it. They are also very good at updating you if something major is going on like maintenance that will affect your unit. All in all, I highly recommend living here. For the area, the rent is cheap, and you're within walking distance of many restaurants and stores.
