Are there any cities around Salt Lake City that are a bit more upscale and closer to nature?

If you’re someone who’s looking to find a place to live in Utah that’s a few notches above downtown life in the upscale factor, with enough easy access to mountain trails to satisfy your inner nature child’s desire to roam free, consider the areas of South Jordan and West Jordan.

South Jordan and West Jordan are situated side by side close to the Oquirrh Mountains, a mountain range connected to Harker Canyon, which is an area of great interest to hikers and curious explorers. Within South Jordan, the Jordan River Parkway and Bingham Creek Trail provide more than adequate hiking trails to satisfy even the most enthusiastic of hikers. If you’re not a rugged naturalist or avid hiker but still enjoy the outdoors, South Jordan boasts 27 municipal parks and playgrounds.

South/West Jordan apartments vary slightly in cost, with lower-end single-occupancy properties in South Jordan going for an average monthly cost of $600 to $700 per month. Meanwhile, one-bedroom apartments in West Jordan can be had at lower costs, but rent in both cities is slightly higher than those found in the outlying areas. Their status as upper-scale suburbs of Salt Lake City are the primary reason, but their advantageous proximity to Sandy, Utah also has a lot to do with it.
