Anyone looking for a South Sound Washington rental is probably curious about every aspect of the area, including the local cinematic scene. Residents of this area aren’t usually thought of as film buffs, but anyone who makes this mistake doesn’t truly know the South Sound. The two biggest cities in the South Sound, Tacoma and Olympia, are both home to impressive theaters, festivals, and film societies.
Olympia Film Society

Watch classics, independents, and unrepresented films at the Capitol Theater, a grand old 750-seat venue built in 1924.

Olympia Film Festival

Every year, the Olympia Film Society holds a nationally recognized film festival, described as “a ten-day around-the-clock extravaganza of films, filmmakers and film-related guests, special performances, discussion panels, and educational workshops.” This festival is truly something to behold.
The Grand Cinema

A non-profit art-house theater, its mission is to enhance the cultural vitality of the community through the art of film. Thanks to a partnership with the Click! Cable Company, The Grand shows a free family film every third Saturday of the month.

The Tacoma Film Festival

An eight-day celebration of independent, international films that screens over 120 films at seven different venues around Tacoma. In 2009, over a third of the films had a filmmaker present at their screenings.
