Where can I find quiet suburbs with excellent amenities?

The communities to the east and northeast of downtown Cleveland include larger towns and smaller villages. These suburbs each have a distinct personality and vision.

Beachwood’s school district is a Blue Ribbon award winner; its schools are ranked among the top fifty in the state. The community was rated as a number-one suburb by Cleveland Magazine. The city’s aquatic center features a large outdoor pool and a water-slide complex.

Just twelve miles southeast of downtown Cleveland, Bedford Heights prides itself on being a quiet, well-maintained community. The city benefits from its proximity to the Cleveland Metroparks system, which provides pedestrian, bicycle, and horseback-riding trails.

Shaker Heights is just eight miles from downtown Cleveland. The city has a reputation for excellent city services, architecture, and education. Shaker Heights is the only suburb east of Cleveland with a rapid transit system that eases commute times into downtown, sports arenas, the waterfront, and the airport. The community also supports green/sustainable practices and is one of only a handful in the Midwest to adopt legislation that supports green building.

Apartments in East/Northeast range from studios to three-bedroom units. Rents are about average for the greater Cleveland area.
