How can I get around in the Jacksonville area?

When looking at apartments for rent in Jacksonville, keep in mind that getting around the city is fairly easy. There are four major highways that provide easy access to nearly anywhere in the area, and if you look at a map you can see that a circle of road runs around the entire city. In addition, the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) offers shuttles, express bus routes and a number of regular bus routes that serve this region.

A number of trolleys also operate in the area, and the Bay Street and Beaver Street routes can be a great way to travel if you live downtown. The Riverside Trolley runs between downtown Jacksonville and the Five Points areas. In the summertime, the Beaches Trolley links South Beach to Atlantic Boulevard. Since the weather is almost always nice here, going places by trolley is both a convenient and inexpensive way to travel. Because it’s so easy to get around, feel free to look at apartments nearly anywhere in the downtown area.
