Is it easy to get around in Orange County?

April 25, 2012 | 0 Comments

If you are looking to live in one of the Orange apartments, it can help to know that this is an area that has it together when it comes to public transportation. The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) was formed by pulling together seven transportation agencies under one roof in the 1990s. This has resulted in a much more efficient system that serves residents of the area quite well. Here is an overview of what the transportation network provides:

  • Rail service. The Metrolink operates three lines in Orange County; the Orange County Line, the Inland Empire-Orange County Line and the 91 Line.
  • Bus service. There are local bus, rail feeder and paratransit services available throughout the 798 square mile area that the OCTA serves. These services are extended to 34 cities as well as areas that are unincorporated.
  • Express lanes. There is a four-lane express toll facility that serves vehicular traffic in the area. It runs on the Riverside Freeway (SR-91) between the Costa Mesa Freeway (SR-55) and the Orange/Riverside County Line.

The transportation options in this area are many, and travel is convenient whether you own a car or not. This makes getting around in the Orange County region an easy task.
