The Mississippi River marks the western border of Tennessee, and you can see the water from many places in downtown Memphis. The river adds a nice touch to an otherwise urban area. If you are looking for a Memphis rental with a view of nature, this area may be the perfect choice. There are also several other Tennessee towns that are located along the Mississippi, including Ripley, Tiptonville, Dyersburg and Henning. Living in any of these cities means proximity to one of the greatest rivers in the entire world.

Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate that there are several state parks in Tennessee where you can enjoy all that the river has to offer. The Great River Road runs through the state and provides access to the following places:

  • T.O. Fuller State Park
  • Reelfoot Lake State Park
  • Fort Pillow Historic State Park
  • Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park

Any of these spots are a great place to settle in and enjoy a picnic, take pictures or simply sit and soak up the surroundings for a bit. T.O. Fuller State Park is located right in Memphis.
