Even if you live outside of the Minneapolis city center, you can still take advantage of its arts and culture scene. Towns such as Coon Rapids and Chaska might seem off the beaten path, but with the network of roadways that serves the region, they really aren’t very far away. If you’ve found a good suburb in which to rent, Minneapolis provides the perfect weekend getaway, as it offers plenty of options for dining and entertainment and has a rich culture scene. The Walker Art Center is a great place to visit and is right next to the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, which has over 40 large-scale works. With more than 20 dance companies, two orchestras and a resident opera company, performing arts are also a big draw for this town. Theatre productions are plentiful in Minneapolis; one of the more than 100 theatre companies that serve the region is always offering some production.
