Is there a neighborhood in west Denver that offers affordable apartments?

The west side of Denver is the Jefferson Park neighborhood. Located just across I-25 and south of Highland, it is named for a 6.7 acre park that exists there. The park is hard to miss at Clay Street and west 23rd Avenue.

Apartments in west Denver are fairly easy to come by, as there are many apartment complexes here. Most of these properties were built in the 1950s and 1960s, so they are a bit older. Over 3,000 people live in this neighborhood, and many of them live in these Denver apartment rentals. Jefferson Park has been slower than other areas of the city when it comes to redevelopment, so most rentals in west Denver are in buildings that were constructed before 1990.

The Fred Thomas Career Education Center, a vocational school, is located here. Federal Boulevard serves as an important retail area and is also the western boundary for the Jefferson Park neighborhood. Getting to the heart of downtown Denver is a fairly quick process, but this part of the city remains a bit separate due to its location on the other side of I-25.
