Located a few miles west of Lansing, the city of Grand Ledge was named for its geology. Throughout the area you can see sandstone and quartzite rock ledges from 300 million years ago. A recently updated downtown area boasts new streetlights, sidewalks, trees and other details, and the Grand River cuts right through the middle of the town. Approximately 9,000 people live in Grand Ledge, which gives the area a comfortable small-town feel. The community members pride themselves on being active through volunteerism.

Those choosing homes and apartments in Grand Ledge will appreciate the chance to get out and mingle with neighbors at one of the many festivals that take place throughout the year. There is a Color Cruise weekend in October and the Island Art Fair is held in August. These are just two examples of the many events held in the town that residents and those in neighboring towns have come to enjoy. Since Grand Ledge is located so close to Lansing, it is a great place to live if you want the benefits of a smaller town along with the proximity to all the goods and services that you get with a large city nearby.
