There are three suburbs of Lansing that are good examples of what you will find if you are looking for somewhere to live in the area outside the city. Homes and apartments in Okemos/Haslett/Williamston are not too difficult to find, and each of these towns has an appealing atmosphere. Their proximity to the city also makes them attractive. This area of Michigan has a lot of appeal for those who enjoy the outdoors, and these communities are a perfect example of what is available in the area outside the city center.

Okemos is a part of Meridian Charter Township and was originally a farming community.

The town of Williamston is situated on the Red Cedar River, and it has many buildings from the turn of the century. A good spot for those who enjoy a quaint atmosphere, the town has unique stores and is known for its antiques.

Haslett was in the top 50 towns voted "Best Places to Raise Your Kids in America" by Businessweek Magazine. It is also the home of Lake Lansing, making it a good place for recreation and relaxation.
