What are Ferndale and Troy like?

Ferndale is located where I-696 and I-75 meet and it has a population of nearly 25,000 people. If you’re searching for apartments in Detroit area that are within Oakland County, this is a great place to begin. This hip community has an edgy vibe that makes it a haven for creatives and intellectuals. Galleries, bookstores and vintage clothing can all be found in Ferndale and the restaurant and bar scene is always hopping. You can dance the night away or kick back and relax at one of the many spots in town.

Also located in this general area of the region is Troy, a town well known for "The Somerset Collection;" a posh shopping area, complete with palm trees and upscale stores. Troy has over 900 acres of park land and is home to 81,000 people. Both of these cities are very close to downtown Detroit, making each a good place to look for rental property in the area. If you are hoping to find a town that gives a more suburban feel than the city center, visit Oakland County and see if one of the communities there has what you’re looking for in terms of atmosphere.
