Searching for Fort Myers apartments can be fun. This southwestern Florida city is close to the water, making it a recreational paradise. Close to 68,000 people live in this town, making it a nice size—not too big, but with plenty of amenities. Fort Myers is located in Lee County, and some of the neighboring cities include Cape Coral, Bonita Springs and Sanibel. The town lies along the shores of the Caloosahatchee River, adding to the scenery. Centennial Park and Fort Myers Yacht Basin provide lovely gathering spots for residents, and the climate here is beautiful all year.

The population in this city is a young one, with a median age of 32, so the town has an atmosphere that reflects that fact. Nicknamed the "city of palms," Fort Myers boasts a scenic main drive on McGregor Boulevard, lined with trees that stand up to 75 feet. Nightclubs, bars and restaurants give the local population plenty to do without ever leaving town, but nearby cities provide a nice diversion that is close to home if that is needed. If you plan to apartment hunt in this town, be sure and bring your camera.
