The area southeast of Portland includes cities such as Milwaukie, Clackamas and Happy Valley. These three towns are all close to the downtown section of the city, yet offer a more suburban feel to their residents. Apartments in southeast Portland provide great alternatives for those who prefer not to live right in the heart of the city. Milwaukie and Happy Valley are a little bit closer than Clackamas, but all of these cities are within a very short drive. Milwaukie recently opened a new 5-acre park that has a children’s playground and picnic area. With just over 20,000 people, it makes a lovely spot to rent an apartment. Happy Valley is a town that has grown rapidly. It has an abundance of parks and nature trails for residents to enjoy and is located just 13 miles from downtown Portland. All three of these cities are close to Mount Hood National Forest, the Clackamas River, the Cascade Mountain Range, the Columbia River Gorge and Mount Hood itself.
