What are some of the bedroom communities to Seattle and Bellevue that offer close proximity and a small town feel?

One of the many bedroom communities to Seattle and nearby Bellevue is North Bend. While this town is home to the main North American production facility for Nintendo, most residents commute to the larger cities for work. Property values here have gone up substantially in the last decade, but North Bend remains an affordable alternative to city dwelling.

Another small town located in King County is Issaquah, a mere 17 miles from Seattle and in close proximity to Bellevue and Redmond. It’s name is an anglicized version of the Native American name for “the sound of birds,” due to the original pioneers settling there being overcome by the number of wetland birds in residence. Despite being very small, many cultural and historical attractions can be found in Issaquah. Salmon Days, for example are an international, award-winning festival celebrating the return of the salmon to their watery birthplace. The town is also home to the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery, the Cougar Mountain Zoo, and the headquarters of Costco Wholesale, previously found in Kirkland.

No matter which apartments in Issaquah/Sammimish/North Bend you settle into, these charming bedroom communities and all they have to offer will surely make you feel right at home.
