Howard County is about 10 miles southwest of Baltimore, and it has a population of over 270,000 people. A great place to live if you need to commute to downtown, there are some wonderful places to look for rental properties here. Apartments in Howard County can be found in places like Elkridge, a community in eastern Howard County. Columbia is near the center of the county and is another nice spot to consider.

Howard County is considered to be a fairly affluent place, and the residents there tend to be well educated. Good schools, a terrific location near Baltimore and Washington D.C. and plenty of cultural opportunities make this a good pick in terms of setting up a home base. The park system here is also a good draw, offering over 7,000 acres of land for the enjoyment of residents and visitors alike. If you are looking for a community that is close to two major U.S. cities that also has many amenities of its own, take a peek at Howard County.
