What are some options for living in the northwest Houston area?

Apartments in Northwest Houston have their appeal, but if you are looking for something a bit further off the map, you may want to check out some of the smaller towns up that way. Chappell Hill is a charming little town to the northwest of Houston, and it is far enough from the city to have a bit of rural appeal. Hempstead, Waller and Prairie View are also out in that direction. If you want to go a bit more north instead of west, you can try Tomball or Magnolia.

It is amazing how quickly the downtown atmosphere of Houston gives way to a more suburban feel. In some cases, it even feels like the country. Texas has vast amounts of land, and this means that there is a feeling of space throughout many areas of the state. Even so, the transportation network helps ensure that even those living a bit off the city grid can get into the downtown area without a big hassle.
