If you want to live in an apartment that is near downtown Memphis but somewhere a bit less urban, you can find some nice areas to the east of downtown. Those who enjoy a sense of community or a suburban atmosphere will appreciate the feel here. Apartments in east Memphis areas such as Germantown, Cordova and Collierville can give you big city access without all the hustle and bustle on a daily basis. It can be worth investigating this region if you have your heart set on something that is a bit more low-key than downtown city living.

Cordova is a small town in Shelby County. It is north of Germantown and northwest of Collierville. Proximity to I-40 means an easy trip into downtown Memphis if you want to go into town for dinner or to listen to some live music. Collierville is a pretty town with a lovely park system. It is also home to the Harrell Performing Arts Theatre, where a variety of productions take place throughout the year. Germantown is only about 17 miles outside downtown Memphis. The town has a low crime rate and a population of about 40,977 people. Any of these cities can make a great place to look for rentals east of downtown Memphis.
