What are some towns to the south of Indianapolis?

If you are looking for a location to live that is outside of the city center, apartments in south Indianapolis areas such as Greenwood, Franklin, Southport and Bargersville may be a good choice. These cities all provide a more suburban feel while still giving residents access to all the amenities of downtown Indianapolis living. Bargersville is small, with a population of approximately 2,000 people–perfect for those searching for a more rural atmosphere that is still connected to the greater metropolitan region here.

Greenwood is only 12 miles to the south of downtown Indianapolis, and it has a population of about 55,000 people, giving it more of a suburban feel. With fourteen municipal parks, a swimming pool, community center, shops, restaurants and entertainment centers, this city is a great place to live. Franklin is about twenty minutes to the south of Indianapolis, and the population here is about 22,000 people, making it a nice mid-range city. Southport offers yet another choice outside the downtown area, and out of all these towns it is the one that is closest to the city center.
