If you want to live outside the city center, apartments in southwest Indianapolis areas such as Mooresville, Camby or Martinsville may be a good idea. This area outside the big city offers less crowding as well as a more suburban atmosphere. As for commuting to downtown Indianapolis, it couldn’t be easier, since I-70 runs right through this region. Any of these cities can make a good home base for those looking to live in an area that has more of a community feel. Camby is very close, and it is a smaller town with almost no travel time to the city center.

Mooresville is ten miles away from Indianapolis, giving it convenient access without all the congestion. This town has a population of about 10,000 people, so it is a place where you really can get to know your neighbors and participate in community events. Martinsville is the County Seat of Morgan County and it is located a bit off the beaten path. This may make it a place that is better suited to those who don’t need to work in the downtown Indianapolis area, but still want all the big city amenities nearby. With a population approaching 12,000 people, it is another city that is great for those searching for a sense of community.
