What are the beaches like in the L.A. area?

In terms of California apartments, L.A. offers residents a number of ways to get outdoors and enjoy the lovely weather at the beach. There are eight different beaches that are within a short drive of the city center, and each of them offers a lovely atmosphere. Most of the beaches here are lively and filled with interesting people, so a day with your toes in the sand doesn’t have to be about quiet time and sunshine alone. If you like the action, try out Venice Beach, Manhattan Beach or Hermosa Beach.

Those with a family may appreciate Cabrillo Beach, which has the Cabrillo Marina Aquarium right there as well. Leo Carrillo State Park is another good spot for families, with its tide pools and interactive displays. If you are a fan of surfing, you’ll want to be sure to check out Malibu Beach, which is known for its fantastic waves. Those who prefer things a bit more quiet can head over to El Matador Beach or Santa Monica State Beach. Although these are both popular spots, they don’t have the same type of buzz atmosphere that you will find in some of the more active beach fronts. There is a place by the water here for everyone, so it’s just a matter of finding the one that matches your tastes.
