What are the entertainment districts like in Austin?

If you are searching for Austin, Texas apartments, chances are you’ll want to know a few things about this city, including what the story is with the entertainment districts. There are three main areas you may want to consider renting near if you like a hopping city scene. Here they are:

  1. The Warehouse District. This area is named for the fact that many venues are renovated warehouse buildings, which adds a distinct feel to this section of the city. Some places to check out include: Antone’s, Speakeasy, Red Fez, the Elephant Room and the Lucky Lounge. You’ll find plenty of live music around here.
  2. South Austin. This trendy area is home to places such as the Broken Spoke, the Continental Club and the Saxon Pub. Keep an eye out for the "first Thursdays" there which offer street music, late shopping hours and art gallery openings.
  3. Sixth Street/Red River. On weekend nights this street is closed to vehicles so that people can fully experience Austin at its musical best. Here you’ll find Maggie Mae’s, Habana, B.D. Riley’s Pub and many more clubs, shows and live music to sample and enjoy. Some of the most well-known places in the Austin "scene" are located here.
