Columbus and Greensburg are two cities located to the southeast of Indianapolis, and both can make good places to live if you need to commute to the downtown area for work. This is especially true if you are looking for an area that isn’t as populated as the city center. Both of these towns offer more of a small-town vibe and yet are close enough to major roadways to make a commute fairly easy. Columbus is near I-65 and Greensburg is right by I-74. Apartments in Columbus/Greensburg are not hard to find, and each town offers its own unique atmosphere.
Greensburg is located about 47 miles from Indianapolis and it has a population of approximately 10,260 people. The downtown area is an historic district with a nice mix of restaurants and retail stores. Columbus is about an hour from Indianapolis, and it takes about that long to get to Cincinnati and Louisville as well, making it a great location. The city is known for its architecture, and it was ranked sixth in the nation for architectural innovation and design by the American Institute of Architects. With a population of nearly 40,000, this city can also be a great spot to live.
