Two major sports teams call the city of Seattle home—the Seahawks of the NFL and baseball’s Mariners. Both venues are located on the outskirts of Pioneer Square Historic District, in the southern part of downtown Seattle and accessed easily by residents of Seattle apartments and the surrounding areas. Qwest Field, home to the Seattle Seahawks, boasts 72,000 seats and a state-of-the-art stadium. For a $7 admission ($5 for kids and seniors), fans can take a tour that includes areas such as the press box, playing field and visiting team locker room. Just South of Qwest, Major League Baseball action happens at Safeco field, the home turf of the Mariners. The venue spans 20 acres and seats more than 46,000 fans. The $9 tour ($7 for kids and seniors) there brings visitors through the Mariners Hall of Fame, the NorthWest Baseball Museum, press box, dugout and clubhouse. Sports fans looking to relocate to the heart of the action won’t be disappointed in Seattle.
