Located in Oakland County, Birmingham is an affluent community with a population of approximately 20,000 residents. The people who live here tend to be younger and well-educated. In terms of apartments, Detroit, MI has some really top notch ones to offer downtown, but Birmingham gives residents the luxury without the crowds. Maple Avenue is a great spot to wander for the afternoon and browse the variety of stores, or dine in one of the lovely restaurants in town to get a great meal.

There are also 22 parks that offer 300 acres of land for visitors and residents to enjoy. In addition, there is an indoor tennis facility for those who enjoy that type of diversion. From outdoor sculpture to The Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center, there are plenty of places to enjoy art—or even take classes if that is more to your liking.
