What is Cocoa Beach like?

Cocoa Beach is an hour’s drive from Orlando, but for those who love the water it may be just the right place to look for a rental. Located on the "Space Coast," just south of Cape Canaveral, this town has plenty of golfing, shopping and dining, while still offering a multitude of other recreational opportunities. The beaches here are open every day of the year–day and night. In addition, the average temperature of the water is 73 degrees. Surfing and deep sea fishing are just a couple of the activities that people who live in Cocoa Beach can enjoy. After all, even though they can be great, Orlando apartments aren’t located this close to the ocean.

Cocoa Beach is actually situated on a barrier island, and it runs for about six miles. The population in this community varies based on the season, but the year-round residents number almost 13,000 people. Add in the tourists and part-timers in high season and it bumps that number up to over 30,000. There are three ocean-front parks, children’s playgrounds, tennis courts and a trolley system, adding to the allure of the area, and numerous regional attractions are located within an easy drive of the town as well.
