Del Rio is a town that is located about 150 miles to the west of San Antonio. Those who haven’t found what they are looking for in terms of San Antonio apartments may want to consider this city as a place to live instead. Situated in Val Verde County, the town is very close to the border of Mexico, and it is also near Laughlin AFB. The population in Del Rio is approximately 40,000 people, and it is one of several towns that is close to San Felipe Springs, meaning it has a good supply of water.

Amistad National Recreation Area is only 8 miles away, making Del Rio a great home base for those who enjoy outdoor activities. Boating, sailing and scuba diving are all popular lake-based activities, but there are quite a few in-town opportunities for fun as well. The city has numerous recreational facilities, including municipal swimming pools, golf courses and parks. Fiestas and rodeos also take place in Del Rio every year, adding to the already impressive list of things to do. Living outside of San Antonio can be a lot of fun if you choose the right spot, and Del Rio is definitely one that is worth a look.
