What is it like in Stillwater?

Mosey on down the road northeast of the Oklahoma City metropolitan area and you’ll find yourself in the little city of Stillwater. Stillwater has been called the “friendliest city in Oklahoma” by an Oklahoma-based magazine. The primary economic base in Stillwater comes from Oklahoma State University, officially the largest employer, landowner and cultural center in town. Stillwater apartments can be found to fit the budget of students as well as non-students wanting to settle down in what is nicknamed “Cowboy Country.”

Adjacent to campus is the bar district, a location referred to as “The Strip.” Several bands from Stillwater have become quite successful, namely the All-American Rejects and Jason Boland, which draws clientele to The Strip’s venues in hopes of catching an up and coming act.

One of the best recreational activities to pursue in Stillwater is golf. As a matter of fact, it was named one of Golf Digest’s top ten best places to retire and play golf. In addition to hitting the links, you can fish, hike, ride some ATV’s, or check out the local Farmer’s Market. The National Wrestling Hall of Fame, celebrating the sport, is located on the Oklahoma State University campus.
