What is La Jolla like?

If the coastline doesn’t draw you in to check out the La Jolla area, you may still be tempted to call this town home once you have seen it. The city’s name means "the jewel" in Spanish, and besides the beauty of the natural surroundings, residents also have easy access to San Diego, which is only 15 minutes away. Although this is an affluent community, it isn’t showy—it lets the scenery in the area speak for itself. Those who love the outdoors will enjoy activities such as swimming, hiking and surfing in the California sun, along with a very nice community and all the amenities it has to share.

Home to the University of California, San Diego, this town has much more to offer than just a nice view. The Scripps Institution of Oceanography and the Stephen Birch Aquarium & Museum are both located here, and there is plenty of golf to be had in the area as well. Apartments in La Jolla/UTC area are sure to please, since this region is such a desirable place to live. If you like to shop, you won’t be disappointed as this city has some top-notch offerings, and the dining is terrific as well. All-in-all, La Jolla is a great town with a terrific location.
