Laredo, Texas is a well-known city located to the southwest of San Antonio. With a population that is fast approaching 250,000 people, the town continues to grow, in part because of the fact that it is near the Mexican border. Manufacturing and trade have been key factors that have boosted the economy of this region of the state. If you don’t have your heart set on a San Antonio rental, this city can be a great alternative that is still in the same general area of the state.

The Laredo Independent School District has three high schools, four middle schools and 21 elementary schools that serve the families in town, and there are other school districts that fall within this region. Texas A & M International University also has a presence in the city. Laredo boasts an international airport and bus service, and is located near I-35. This highway provides easy access to San Antonio and beyond, going all the way to Dallas as well. Those who want to stay close to home will appreciate the fact that Laredo has plenty of shopping, dining and recreation opportunities right within the city limits.
