April 25, 2012 | 0 Comments

If you want to live in downtown Memphis, you might do well to consider the Midtown area if you want to live in the heart of the city. Apartments in downtown/Midtown Memphis are easy to find, and they are near many of the city’s main attractions. Here you will find Overton Park, the home of the Memphis Zoo, the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art and the Memphis College of Art. If you like the nightlife scene, you will also appreciate this area, as it has many bars that serve up an interesting mix of live music, as well as a number of unique restaurants and other places to hang out and unwind.

Although there are several sections of Midtown, overall the area has a more suburban than urban feel to it. There is a mixture of vintage buildings and high-rise condominiums or apartments set alongside stores. It is a diverse and eclectic area with a unique appeal, and residents are proud to live in Midtown. The Cooper-Young neighborhood is located in Midtown and it is known as a historic spot. It is also the location of the Cooper-Young Festival which takes place each year. Midtown is a great place to look for rentals if you want to be close to downtown but prefer something with a community feel.
