Mt. Pleasant is a short drive north from Lansing, Michigan. With a population of over 25,000 people, it is also home to Central Michigan University (CSU), which means it has the feel of a college town. There are over 2,000 employees and more than 19,000 students at CMU, making it a significant focal point in the area. The Saginaw Chippewa Tribe also has a strong presence in the region, with a variety of cultural programming and the Soaring Eagle Hotel and Casino, which is located in the east section of Mt. Pleasant.

Housing is affordable here and there are also subdivisions that offer condominiums and apartments in Mount Pleasant. There are quite a few parks in the town, and it is also known as a regional shopping destination. Home to major employers such as the Meijer Corporation, there is a thriving business community in the town. To add to the amenities, there is a city-operated municipal airport as well as an expressway and highway nearby. This makes traveling to or from Mt. Pleasant easy no matter where you are coming from–or going to.
