What is New Braunfels like?

April 25, 2012 | 0 Comments

To the northeast of San Antonio you will find the town of New Braunfels. This city is extremely proud of its German heritage, and you can see that reflected in the community. German restaurants are located in town, and every year the residents turn out for the "Wurstfest" to celebrate the heritage of the city and embrace its roots. Apartments in New Braunfels are not difficult to find, and if you enjoy an atmosphere loaded with German culture, there is no place in Texas that you would rather be than here. The population of this city is approximately 36,000 people.

Even with the strong cultural aspect in town, it isn’t all sausage and beer in this city. There are four golf courses located in the area for those who enjoy getting outdoors to stretch their legs and play. The Guadalupe River is here as well, providing all kinds of opportunities for outdoor recreation. Tubing, canoeing and fishing are just some of the popular activities in the area. The location is excellent as it is within a short drive of San Antonio, Austin, Canyon Lake and Gruene. In addition, Houston is only about 160 miles away.
