What is New Castle County like?

Apartments in New Castle County have the distinct advantage of having convenient access to the surrounding region. Living in places such as Wilmington, Newark, Newport or Stanton means that you can get to neighboring states easily. New Castle is the northernmost county in the state of Delaware, giving it proximity to Philadelphia, Washington DC and New York. New York and DC are only an hour and a half away.

Wilmington is the County Seat of New Castle, and it has over 72,000 residents. It is close to Philadelphia’s International Airport, three major highways and Amtrak’s east coast line. The Greater Wilmington Airport is also located here. Sometimes referred to as the "corporate capital of the world," this city has over half of the Fortune 500 companies calling it home. Attractions here include the Brandywine Zoo, The Grand Opera House and over 500 acres of well-planned park land. Those who are looking for a rental can take a bit of time to compare Wilmington’s big city amenities with the smaller areas nearby and decide which they prefer.
