What is Sarasota known for?

If you are looking for apartments, Sarasota, FL makes a great place to live in southwestern Florida. Only an hour from Fort Myers, this is a nice mid-sized city, with a population of approximately 53,000. Other communities in the area include Venice and North Port. Sometimes people refer to Sarasota as Florida’s "Cultural Coast," due to the large number of galleries, theaters and other arts venues in the area. There is also good golf to be had, and plenty of opportunities to get out in nature.

Sarasota has over 10 theaters, more than 30 art galleries, a professional symphony, ballet and opera. The John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art is another popular draw in the region. Myakka River State Park and Oscar Scherer State Park are located here as well, giving residents and visitors the chance to get out and enjoy nature in an area known for having a beautiful climate. Historic Spanish Point and Marie Selby Botanical Gardens are two other attractions in Sarasota, rounding out the wide variety of things to see and do in town. If you wind up living in this city, there will always be plenty of art and culture to experience.
