The largest city in terms of land area in Virginia is Suffolk, located in southeastern Virginia. It is the largest of the Seven Cities of Hampton Roads, and the 11 th- largest in the country. Suffolk boasts an ideal combination of small-town charm and big-city amenities, a combination that draws visitors interested in a weekend away as well as those wanting to settle down some place with good hospitality and spectacular views. Suffolk Apartments can be found in the range of $650 to $900 for one bedroom and $750 to $1,000 for two bedrooms.

Suffolk is home to the Planters Nut and Chocolate Company, and peanut processing and distribution is a major industry. Riddick’s Folly House Museum is another landmark in the city. This registered historic landmark home was the headquarters for the Union during the Civil War. The area also features camping, fishing, horseback riding, and nature trails to satisfy all types of outdoor interests.

Community spirit is a big part of Suffolk’s appeal. The city holds several annual events that capitalize on that spirit, including the Suffolk Peanut Festival, the Nansemond Indian Tribal Pow Wow, Taste of Suffolk Downtown Street Festival, and the Great Dismal Birding Festival.
