What is the area like in the Waco/Killeen/Temple sections of Texas?

Apartments in Waco/Killeen/Temple Texas are a bit outside of the Austin area but still within a reasonable drive to the city. You can get to downtown Austin in under an hour from most of these cities and there are apartments available for rent in each area.

The City of Waco is located in McLennan County and has a land mass of 98.5 square miles. The 2000 census estimated the population to be a little over 110,000 people. The city is home to Lake Waco, the Cameron Park Zoo, Cameron Park and the Cottonwood Creek Golf Course, among other things. Baylor University is also located here.

The City of Killeen is the home of Central Texas College as well as Tarleton State University – Central Texas. It is also the location of Fort Hood, the largest active duty military station in the United States. You’ll find plenty of dining options in the area as well as other things to do and good public transportation options to get there.

The City of Temple is another great town in Central Texas. Located about 60 miles north of Austin, it has over 58,000 people within its boundaries according to the 2000 census. The Killeen-Temple area ranks 11th in population growth in the entire state of Texas.
