Sports fans residing in or around Oklahoma City won’t be disappointed. Major League Baseball’s Texas Rangers AAA farm team, the RedHawks, play their home games at AT&T Bricktown Park, in downtown OKC. Also in the downtown area is Ford Center, an indoor arena that is the home of the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder. In nearby Norman, the Sooners of the University of Oklahoma play at the Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. In 2008, this college football powerhouse was named by ESPN as the most prestigious college football program since 1936.

Besides spectator sports, appreciative fans should be able to find Oklahoma City apartments for rent near one of the city’s sports-related museums. The Oklahoma Sports Museum, located in Guthrie, is an interactive museum filled with memorabilia honoring prominent sports figures with a connection to Oklahoma, including Troy Aikman, Mickey Mantle, Shannon Miller, and Jim Thorpe. The Jim Thorpe Museum and Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame is also found in OKC, as is The National Softball Hall of Fame.
