Apartments in Port Charlotte area are easy to come by and there are a number of lovely communities nearby in southwestern Florida. There are 165 miles of man-made waterways in the Port Charlotte area, and many provide access to Charlotte Harbor or the Gulf of Mexico. The entire area has about 140,000 residents and it is a popular spot among retirees and vacationers alike. The charm of the towns here cannot be denied, and the amenities ensure that those who live here are quite comfortable.

Besides Port Charlotte, the cities of Placida and Punta Gorda can also be good places to search for a rental. Punta Gorda is a harbor town with plenty of history. Located along Charlotte Harbor, most of what you will see here is on the water. If you are looking for something a little unique, check out one of the period homes here. It still feels like "old Florida" here with the brick streets and verandas. Placida is a pretty community that is on the smaller side, but it still has plenty to offer if you are looking for a spot that is a bit more quiet.
