What is the Southside area of Lansing like?

The area of Lansing referred to as the Southside is one of the best places to look for Lansing, Michigan, apartment rentals and other types of housing. This highly populated section of town is located to the south of both the Grand River and the Cedar River, and it has a very suburban feel to it. There are a multitude of parks here with over 1,000 acres of green space for people to enjoy in a variety of capacities. This lends a great deal of appeal to this section of the city, and provides numerous opportunities for recreation.

Several commercial areas are conveniently located here, providing residents with everything from restaurants to a variety of stores. Cedar Street and Waverly Road are two good examples of commercial streets in this section of town. The Potter Park Zoo and Fenner Nature Center are also located here. With everything you need close by, the Southside neighborhood is a great spot to live; right in the center of all that is going on, but without the crowded feeling that can sometimes accompany living in the downtown area.
