What is Trotwood like?

Trotwood is a growing community located northwest of Dayton. While Trotwood has a population of approximately 30,000 people, it retains a comfortable feel due to the fact that the residents are spread out over nearly 30 square miles. Newer schools and expanding housing options are two good reasons to consider this area when looking for something beyond the typical Dayton, Ohio apartment rental options. The fact that this town is so close to the Dayton city center is another positive. Trotwood was named after a character in a Charles Dickens novel and is really a mixture of old and new. A new town center marks the expansion of the population here, yet Trotwood’s "Olde Town" district is a nod to the past, preserving historical buildings in a charming atmosphere. The city is also home to Sycamore State Park, which provides a number of recreational opportunities, such as hiking and horseback riding, to residents and those in neighboring communities.
