What towns are both close to Mount Hood National Forest and to downtown Portland?

If you’re looking for an apartment, Portland is a great city to consider in the state of Oregon. If outdoor recreation is your style, there are also numerous towns that are located close to Mount Hood National Forest. Both Camas and Washougal are good picks if living near both the forest and a major city are important factors in your rental property decision. Camas is located in Washington, just over the Oregon state line. The city is situated on the banks of the Columbia River and has a population of over 16,000. The downtown area here is home to a farmers’ market and hosts many different festivals and events throughout the year. Washougal is also located in Washington, close to Mount Hood National Forest. Washougal is also located along the river and is a mere 15 minute drive from Portland. Its nine parks and proximity to a wildlife refuge add to its natural appeal and its population of 14,000 people gives it a tight-knit atmosphere. Even though these two places are not located in Oregon, they are both convenient spots to live in.
