If you are looking for a good place to live near Indianapolis, you may want to try looking to the north of the city center. Getting out of the hustle and bustle of the downtown area can sometimes have rewards. Apartments in north Indianapolis areas such as Carmel and Kokomo are reasonably priced, and they offer a good location for commuters. Carmel is especially close to the downtown area. Kokomo is a bit more removed, but both are good picks if you want to live to the north of the city.
Carmel is one of the fastest-growing cities in the state of Indiana. With a population approaching 69,000 people, this town is attracting new residents in part due to its location and the amenities that can be had both in town and downtown. Kokomo may not be quite as close, but what the town lacks in proximity to Indianapolis, it makes up in atmosphere. Kokomo boasts 450 acres of city parks and other public facilities. It is also home to a rather large aquatic center. Either of these towns can make a good place to set up a home base in the northern Indianapolis area.
