Downtown Spokane, like most of Washington’s downtown cities, is currently undergoing a giant renewal program. This program promises to breathe new life into the city. Here are some of the developments it promises:
River Park Square
Finished in 1997, River Park Square was one of the first products of the downtown project. A giant 110-million dollar shopping and entertainment center, the massive mall is home to three levels of stores and restaurants and a twenty-theater Cineplex with an IMAX theater.
This development on the north side of downtown Spokane along the Spokane River is set to become one of the largest construction projects in the city’s history. Kendall Yards is being designed with the environment in mind. Not only does it plan on using “green” building supplies and methods, but it is also planning to integrate the natural beauty of the surrounding forests and Spokane River into the 2600 residential units and up to 1,000,000 square feet (93,000 m2) of planned commercial, retail, and office space.
Now is the time to look at apartments in Spokane, as it continues to grow and bloom into one of America’s most impressive cities.
